We invite you to a guided tour and the finissage of the exhibition PÚŤOVÁ ATRAKCIA with the artists Pali Hovanec and Peter Barényi!

“The common denominator in the work of both artists is the aesthetics of ‘glitz’—the visual language of a cheap attraction that nevertheless carries critical content. Their work is rooted in reality and authentic experience. Although they use religious motifs, they do not adopt their spiritual character. What fascinates them is the outer façade—overexposed, unrealistic, often impractical and kitschy. Their work moves on the edge of ironic reflection: the world they create is both funny and touching, cheap and precise.
The exhibition Púťová atrakcia is therefore not just a showcase of artworks; it opens a space for humor, critique, and self-irony. It is a pilgrimage—one of us all, though different for each person. The exhibition does not offer spiritual meditation, but rather a look at the mechanisms of visual culture: how symbols become empty, how they turn into decoration.”
