
Matej Červeňan (b. 1998, Trenčín) engages with existentialism in his practice, where landscapes and animal motifs predominate. Between 2020 and 2021, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He currently works in the agro-industrial sector, an experience that also informs his artistic output.

Theme: The painting In the Field reflects the agricultural and pastoral life of the Orava region, where I spend a significant amount of time. It explores the relationship between humans, nature, and animals, emphasizing the transience and instability of the natural world, as well as the human impact on it through life and farming practices.
