FOR MAAT Brussels - Zovinec bros

Zovinec Bros /Jozef, 1981; Martin, 1982, Trenčín/ focus on visual art addressing socially engaged themes. In their work, they combine classical techniques with digital media and video. They are graduates of UTB Zlín, VŠMU Bratislava, and AKU Banská Bystrica.

The work documents a performative action connected to civic activism aimed at saving an important textile factory Merina, where the authors, along with several other artists, had their studios. As a result of their activities, they were expelled from the studios.

The Street Gallery FOR MAAT Brussels is realized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Brussels, the Trenčín-based platform FOR MAAT, and Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture.
